The Village at La Floresta

The Village at La Floresta is a new multi-purpose development in Brea, California. It features several restaurants and retail establishments, as well as a small amphitheater for events, a farmer’s market lot, and surrounding running trails. Because it is part of a larger master community with approximately 1,100 planned housing units, The Village will serve as popular local hangout for eastside Brea residents.

The anchor store of The Village at La Floresta is a new, 38,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market–the first in North Orange County. The two–story structure has a midcentury contemporary look, and provides several community–oriented spaces that make it more than just a supermarket. For example, shoppers can enjoy a coffee bar, a wine and beer tasting area, and an upstairs mezzanine with an open kitchen for events.

CRL-U.S. Aluminum was commissioned to provide glazing system solutions for the Whole Foods Market at The Village. The exterior of the building is equipped with the Series 400 Center Glazed Storefront. The system offers proven performance in a cost-effective, versatile package. The Series 400 Storefront can be interior or exterior glazed and delivers simple, panel-type installation. A top load EPDM gasket is used to position and weatherseal the glass in the aluminum pocket.

Completing the storefront system are CRL-U.S. Aluminum Series 400 Medium Stile Doors. The doors feature 3-1/2" stiles and patented CORNER-LOC® Corner construction for unmatched durability. This makes them ideal for areas with moderate to heavy traffic, such as shopping centers and supermarkets. Series 400 Medium Stile Doors come standard with maximum security locks and dual weatherstripped astragals for optimal air resistance.

Interior areas of the Whole Foods Market have incorporated the SRS Standoff Railing System from CRL. This unique system uses stainless steel point supports to mount glass panels onto a variety of substrates including steel, concrete, and wood. Because there is minimal visible hardware, the SRS Standoff Railing System produces an all-glass appearance. The system has a variety of applications such as stairways, mezzanines, and ramps.

High-quality brands like Whole Foods call for high-quality glazing systems. That is why CRL products can be found throughout the premises. The storefront, entrance doors, and railing systems used enhance the overall aesthetics of the upscale supermarket while providing the performance attributes needed to withstand the constant flow of visitors that The Village at La Floresta is set to attract.
