Shipping Information

All shipments move F.O.B. from our regional service centres unless otherwise specified. Shipments will be made in any manner requested by the customer - Road Express, Overnight Express, Air Satchel, Australia Post, or other common carriers. In the absence of routing instructions, we will ship via the least expensive way. We usually try to ship all orders Road Express if size and weight permit. Because of size or weight restrictions, we sometimes have to ship via common carrier. The following are the different methods of shipment available for most orders:

Road Express: Australia Post:
Express Post satchel 500 grams and 3kg. Next business day service Australia wide depending on location. (Size permitting - no aerosols or dangerous goods) Available from Melbourne only.

Air Services:
Note that shipment via these methods or any premium carrier do not qualify for our freight prepaid backorder policy.

Road Freight or Common Carrier*
We will ship by common carrier only when weight and size limitations require that we do so. Each regional service centre usually has several freight companies that make daily pick-ups and cover all the areas to which they ship. If you wish your shipment to go by a specific freight company please request it when you place your order. We will make every effort to ship your order by that carrier. *Shipment via these methods or any premium carrier does not qualify for our prepaid backorder freight policy.

CRL's Service Level
Over the years, we have built our business on service and getting your order shipped as soon as possible. This is still our prime objective. However, we ask you to please understand we cannot always provide same-day shipping. It takes approximately two to three hours from the time the order is taken (if there are no problems) until it is packed and ready for shipment. Orders called in late in the day, or orders which have problems (such as exceeding credit limit, account past due, address change, etc.) take longer. Sometimes an emergency will come up and you will need the merchandise immediately. We understand this can happen. If you tell us this when you place the order, we will stock check the merchandise you need, and make every effort to get it out the same day. When requesting this service, be sure to get the name and telephone extension of the person you deal with, as it is that person's responsibility to follow this order through. Should any problem arise, contact that person directly.

CRL Backorder Policy for Australia
CRL will prepay the freight charge on all backorders of stocked products shipped to Victoria, New South Wales and ACT by road freight.

Stocked products are 2100+ of our most popular products that we commit to providing off the shelf for customers in Australia. They are coded A, B or C status in our inventory management system.

We aim to minimise the number of shipments you receive in any event but understand that at times backorders are inevitable. If your order qualifies for a freight paid backorder we will ship the goods by default and supply the backorder as soon as it becomes available. In some cases where there’s a small delay of a few days we may hold the order and ship it complete.

There are certain items that are exempt from this policy. The following products/consignments do not qualify: stock lengths of architectural railing or tubing metals, including heavy aluminium base shoe; extrusions; storage and transport racks, lifting and materials handling frames, insulating glass equipment; truck-mounted glass racks; clamps bars, bulk sealants, adhesives, abrasives and polishing compounds. Products sold at discounted or contract prices negotiated between CRL and the customer are also exempt from qualification.

The minimum value of the backorder must exceed $20.00 excluding GST.

All shipments to TAS, SA, QLD, WA and NT are ineligible for freight paid backorders.
